Beowulf Film Critique The base Beowulf was written during the Anglo-Saxon era. The taradiddle portrays the go of this great, aright hero whose goal in bread and butter is to stimulate fame after death. Throughout his journey, he encounters triplet mighty monsters which he defeats. In 2007 the story of Beowulf was do into a film. counterbalance though the story Beowulf was make into a film, the film theatre director made some drastic changes in the personas, the story and its theme. These three changes realize the people take care how society has changed and help them understand the nowadays version of a hero. One of the drastic changes the movie maker made while filming the moving-picture show was the characters. The characters in the cinema unwrap themselves differently than the poem displays them. In the film, the filmmaker changed exclusively of the characters because how it is displayed in the today movie it is how society depicts themselves. The main r elay transmitter Beowulf in the textual matter version is displayed as a disdainful warrior, hero, vaunter and king of the Geats and in the movie he is displayed as an emotional, mawkish and non-grand hero. The filmmaker shows Beowulf as a weak charitable macrocosm who is easily seduced. Beowulf is easily seduced by Grendel`s yield, who in the movie appears like a muse.
Beowulf`s job was to cut down Grendel`s mother, but, instead, he conceives one of the mighty monsters who later in the story he battles against. In the text version, Beowulf was the opposite of how the filmmaker portrays him. He does not th ink twice when he kills Grendels mother; ! he just does it because that is how society in those time idea what a hero must do. Another character who has a drastic change is the monster Grendel. In the novel, Grendel is visualized as pure evil, the descendent of Cain. He does not gain all pity, any emotions, or any doubts. In the film, he is portrayed as the opposite as in the text version. He is displayed as having emotions which interfere with his killing.
